Troja the new arc lamp

Lampada ad arco Troja. Design sostenibile
Remember the famous Arco lamp by Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni ? As early as 1962 was a landmark in the field of design a lamp that broke the traditional design schemes for land a new design concept for a product still popular today.
The German Hansandfranz has probably inspired by the Arco lamp, reinterpreted in a contemporary way. It's called Troja (the name is not really the best ...) and steals the attention for its light and flowing lines that wink to the inspiration created by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.
minimal Design and dematerialized to a lamp in aluminum characterized by a series of small LED that give a pleasant glow.
With materials used, the lamp Troja, it can also be described as a good example of sustainable design considering that aluminum can be recycled almost indefinitely, and the LED have an extremely low power consumption and longer lifespan of 60,000 hours, this means that during their life cycle not have practically never be replaced, thus avoiding the production of waste material destined the dump (as is the case for traditional bulbs that blows periodically).
Excellent design and then, a wonderful inspiration and found the approach sustainable.

Ron Arad designs for PizzaKobra iGuzzini

PizzaKobra la nuova lampada di Ron Arad per iGuzzini
The new trend in lighting design is dictated by the eclectic Ron Arad, who, for the company Italian iGuzzini , drew PizzaKobra the lamp.
Some say that the term "pizza" is a tribute to Italy, but honestly I do not recall our pizza, and then see a pizza in a spiral shape I see a tall (maybe someone who 's he thought he was hungry!). At most, the term may perhaps refer to a pizza like film, because it is round and dark in color. I do not know, maybe tell me what you think;)
But back to PizzaKobra . The second term, Kobra precisely, it refers no doubt to the morphology of the lamp, once opened, immediately reminiscent of the silhouette of a snake.
The design is simple, too simple, but the various joints of the pieces make it a very dynamic and changing. A single object that can take many forms, always different, simply by turning high-tech hubs. The lamp, closed, does not even 2cm in size-height-but grows up to 73cm.
A piece designed by Ron Arad made of steel and aluminum and chrome, utilizing six LED lighting. On the website there is a small video that I invite you to see why it is very clear and perfectly understand the use and functionality.
waiting for your suggestions on why the name "Pizza" and in the meantime I recommend the entire gallery of photos found at
